A Kenyan Baptism
Flight plan for Nairobi …Monday 6am…sorry John Dawson no Vic Falls aeros ( with snorkel) on 1st of Jan..life here, in Kenya, is just so slow….and I love it! Sod this, Africa is under my skin!
Need a bubble compass (both stolen) , any old GPS, and a ‘sparky’ to connect up this knitting re transponder and radio, the South Sudanese left me with when rifling my cub cockpit while I was locked up with malaria Today I really thought , after getting out of South Sudan having nearly lost a foot with gangrene, my life with cerebral malaria and my cub almost left stuck in a thorn hedge, Kenya would not be also riddled with ‘red tape’!
After a day of bashing out dents and covering hold due to thorn hedge, I am faced with bureaucracy… I came to Africa to get away from the corrupt Welsh administration. for Peter’s sake (had lunch with missionaries from South Sudan) so have to done it down a bit).
Paul G , Reg Str and I knew that roller bearing was long overdue for replacement, and now, as if life is not difficult enough… BUT improvisation a word, Don, not in Swahili language I learnt, sorted it!
Now, if I had access to Facebook the videos are a laugh!
One shot put in to wind up the ?% of Pprune who consider I should be shot at dawn ( see comments post 2001 flight to Sydney bridge )
Wonderful, Maurice. So good to hear the cub is being put together and you may be able to continue the adventure. All the best for 2017. (compared to this, Snowdon seems very tame)
