This is the Defence Statement that Maurice put together in his prison cell – against all odds:
- on hunger strike, having lost 14 kg so far
- Cardiff prison denies Maurice Kirk is on hunger strike
- he has been denied certain letters sent to him, possibly from his legal representatives.
He has been denied seeing a doctor now for 2 weeks, which is totally unacceptable as he has a serious medical condition – bleeding stomach ulcers which need immediate treatment – an endoscopy too. He states in a phone call {below} they refused to take a blood test today, and refused to weigh him – this would prove his being on hunger strike, and he has already lost 9 kg in weight since entering Cardiff prison. Due to his medical condition he needs to be monitored constantly, which the prison are refusing to do. He was also bedridden for a while on entry and still is refused treatment in the hospital wing there, apart from being denied him seeing a doctor, apparently on orders from “someone high up”.
Maurice has been to crown court twice recently where they have refused to hear his bail applications.
Other rights have been withdrawn from him = viz. phone call allowance, stationary etc. Put simply – he is being silenced as he knows too much.
The phone calls received today were in files too big to send in the normal way, but the 2 phone calls I received from Maurice from Cardiff prison today are here:

All this self sacrifice by Kirk is not doing the cause for litigants in person any good, in fact it is discrediting those who have and are pursuing legitimate and well founded causes.
To fight this corrupted and rotten system, one needs to be as cunning as a fox and as strong as a lion. To be incarcerated by the system is to bow to its corruption, and incarceration causes you harm and discomfort; you are now taken out of the action. The knack is to attack in such ways that they cannot touch you, and if they do, you must have well worded truths with which to hit them and against which they cannot form any defence.
At the time of Kirk’s internment over a “Lewis gun”, it was clear that the establishment was out to section Kirk, thus removing him from the protest scene. Had it not been for the alertness of one of the observers, I think it was Alison Wunderland, to the prosecution’s summary that stated the undercover police officer referred to as “Foxy”. was a female when in the court SHE became a male officer. After this fact was posted onto Kirk’s web site, and the jury had seen it there, the prosecution counsel said to the judge “I think we shall have to admit to a mis trial”. We never saw any thanks expressed for this and other efforts by “Star fighters” in getting Kirk out of the mess he had dropped himself into.

How very interesting, Della
THANK YOU”
I met Maurice only much later.
But we must stick to his realitis in prison and our possibilities of helping and supporting him. If he knew better, he would do better. If he had known better, he would have done better!
That applies to all of us, all the time!
